Remote call control is a feature of many wireless headsets. It describes the ability to interact with phone calls while not being in the immediate vicinity of the phone.
-
This allows the user to:
- Hear incoming calls through the headset
- Answer and end phone calls
- Mute and unmute voice transmission
- Control call volume
With the press of a button on the headset, the user is in control of the call while away from the phone. This decreases the number of missed calls and opportunities and improves the productivity of the user and entire organizations.
Remote call control is achieved by use of an accessory such as an EHS (electronic hook switch) cable of handset lifter. In a Lync/Skype for Business environment, it is achieved via USB through the software.
