Case Study
24-Hour Microsoft Teams Room Recovery
How UC resolved a critical Teams Room failure remotely — with hours to spare before a key meeting.
The Situation
New Hardware, Broken Room, Ticking Clock
A client’s Microsoft Teams Room went dark after a warranty replacement of networked A/V components — and a critical meeting was less than 24 hours away. The environment added complexity: portions of the original A/V equipment had been retained and integrated during a prior engagement, creating a hybrid setup with unique network configurations that made diagnosing the failure anything but straightforward.
What We Did
Documentation as a First Responder
UC engaged immediately, using detailed room schematics and a complete IP map of the client’s A/V network that had been maintained from the original deployment — giving the team instant visibility into the environment without needing to start from scratch.
Key move: Working entirely remotely through the client’s on-site laptop, UC’s programming specialist traced and resolved IP configuration conflicts that were preventing the new hardware from communicating with the rest of the system — no truck roll, no on-site visit, no delay.
The Outcome
Meetings Back on Schedule, Confidence Restored
The room was fully restored within the 24-hour window. Meetings resumed as planned, system performance was stabilized, and the client moved forward without interruption. The speed of resolution wasn’t luck — it was the direct result of documentation discipline and remote expertise working together when it counted most.
