Case Study
Boardroom Audio, Fixed for Good
How a Florida-based agribusiness transformed its executive boardroom into a space where every voice is heard clearly, consistently.
The Situation
The Audio Wasn’t Keeping Up
The client’s executive boardroom suffered from the classic mid-size boardroom problem: poor speech clarity, inconsistent microphone pickup, and no real coverage beyond the main table. Participants who stood up or moved around the room dropped off the audio entirely, making meetings harder than they needed to be.
What We Did
Ceiling-First Audio, Powered by Q-SYS
UC specified Shure MXA920 ceiling array microphones recessed into the soffit, paired with a Q-SYS audio processing and control platform for high-fidelity, echo-free conferencing audio. The design covers the entire room — not just the table — while keeping sightlines and ceiling aesthetics clean.

A modernized DSP, reliable amplification, and networked infrastructure round out the solution, with an optional QSC NM-T1 tabletop microphone package for distributed mute controls.
Key move: QSC NM-T1 tabletop mics give participants mute/unmute control from multiple positions at the table — no drilling required. The board room keeps its original surface intact while getting the functionality of a fully wired setup.n.
The Outcome
Clear Audio, Anywhere in the Room
Speech clarity is consistent from every seat. Participants can stand, move, and present without dropping off the mic. The ceiling integration keeps the boardroom looking like a boardroom — not a production studio — while delivering the audio quality executive meetings demand.
