Case Study
Multiple Locations Unified for a Mission-Driven Nonprofit
How UC deployed 55 Zoom Rooms to connect Ohel’s teams, clinicians, and leadership across multiple locations.
The Situation
A Growing Organization Needed Better Ways to Connect
Ohel Children’s Home and Family Services serves thousands of individuals and families through mental health programs, developmental disability services, residential care, foster care, domestic violence support, crisis response initiatives and more. With multiple locations spanning across headquarters, clinics, satellite offices, and residential facilities, collaboration is essential to delivering Ohel’s mission.
As remote work and telehealth expanded, Ohel moved from legacy communications platforms to Zoom. While the organization quickly embraced virtual meetings, many conference rooms lacked modern collaboration tools, making it difficult to create a consistent experience for staff working across locations.
The challenge was clear: enable seamless communication between teams, clinicians, and leadership regardless of where they were located.
What We Did
Standardized Video Collaboration Across the Organization
UC partnered with Ohel to modernize meeting spaces and create a more connected workplace experience.
After securing funding for a large-scale technology initiative, Ohel selected Zoom Rooms as the foundation for its collaboration strategy. UC helped bring that vision to life by deploying 55 video-enabled conference rooms and meeting solutions that allowed employees to connect easily across the organization’s network of facilities.
The deployment included:
  • Zoom Rooms across 55 meeting and collaboration spaces
  • Video conferencing solutions for spaces of all sizes
  • Large-format displays and interactive collaboration solutions
  • Integrated audio, video, room scheduling, and control
  • Advanced AV solutions for training and multi-purpose spaces
  • A standardized Zoom experience across meeting spaces
Key move: Rather than treating individual rooms as standalone projects, UC helped Ohel build a unified collaboration environment that could support staff across multiple locations, creating consistency for meetings, telehealth sessions, training, and leadership communication.
The Outcome
Better Collaboration, Stronger Connection, Greater Reach
The impact was immediate. What had previously been audio-only communication became face-to-face collaboration between teams across the organization. For Ohel’s mental health teams, video collaboration helped clinicians work together more effectively across locations.

“It’s very big for telehealth. Our mental-health clinics have weekly sessions through these conference rooms and now are able to act as one team. They can see each other face to face.”

The new technology also expanded how Ohel engages staff, clients, and residents. Events that were once limited by room capacity, such as live concerts, can now be shared across facilities in real time, allowing people throughout the organization to participate regardless of location.
The UC Difference
More Than Meeting Room Technology
For Ohel, the project was about more than installing meeting room technology. It was about creating meaningful connections between people spread across dozens of locations.
When asked whether Ohel would work with UC again, the answer was simple:

“Definitely.”

Today, Ohel’s Zoom-enabled meeting spaces allow the organization to stay connected while remaining focused on what matters most: serving its community in every way they can, no matter the location.
