Q-SYS 10.2 is out. New Peripheral Manager UI, date/time and security config for peripherals, VisionSuite Designer placeholder, improved schematic elements, and a version warning that could save your production designs.
You open a design file in a newer version of Q-SYS Designer than what’s running on the Core. You save it. There’s no going back. It’s a common enough mistake across the industry that QSC added a warning in 10.2. You now get a dialog before you open an older design in a newer major version, telling you what happens if you save.
QSC released Q-SYS Designer Software v10.2 on February 24, 2026. Here’s what’s in it.
Peripheral Manager Redesign. The Peripheral Manager interface has been overhauled to match the look and feel of Core Manager. If you’re used to navigating Core Manager, this will feel familiar. It covers all supported peripherals except NL, NM, and QIO series, which QSC says are coming in a future release.
Date & Time Configuration for Peripherals. Peripheral Manager now has a dedicated Date & Time page, which gives you better visibility into time sync status across your peripherals. You can also configure a backup NTP server so devices keep accurate time when they’re not connected to a Core or can’t reach the primary source. There’s also support for authenticated/encrypted NTP connections for environments with stricter security requirements.
Unified Security Configuration. A new Security page in Peripheral Manager mirrors what’s already in Core Manager, so you can apply security settings to peripherals using the same workflow you’re familiar with on the Core side.
VisionSuite Designer Component. 10.2 includes a new VisionSuite Designer component in the schematic, intended to pair with an upcoming VSA-100 AI Accelerator firmware update. This is a placeholder for now.
Improved Schematic Elements UI. There’s a new UI for the Schematic Elements pane. It adds search filtering by element type, category filtering for audio/control/video, color grouping, and better plugin organization. It’s a nice little usability improvement!
Windows 10 Dropped. Windows 10 is no longer supported by Q-SYS Designer Software.
Bug Fixes. Several resolved issues including UCI navigation buttons intermittently loading the wrong page, touchscreen freezes when holding empty areas on TSC panels, and a crash when using KNX plugins with more than 250 group addresses.
